360 Dominica
car cable
Corporate identity proposal for the new cable car on the island of Dominica.
The Main Concept
The main feature of this cable car is the panoramic view that riders will enjoy from the air—a fully immersive 360-degree experience. It will traverse a tropical forest and glide over a volcanic lake, all part of a UNESCO World Heritage site. This concept has been reflected in the logo by incorporating circles and rounded shapes to reference these elements. These forms indirectly convey a friendly and organic feeling to the audience.
Color Palette
For the chosen color palette, I wanted to draw inspiration from the island's natural colors: the greens from the vegetation, the characteristic blue of the surrounding waters, and the bright yellow of the sun. These colors create an appealing contrast with good combinations and are easy to work with, setting them apart from the conventional colors used by other companies in the same industry.
Typography
Regarding the typography and style used in the rest of the graphic materials, the same approach has been maintained to ensure good cohesion among them, emphasizing the 360-degree perspective of the area. The typography is condensed, easy to read, and has a slight vintage touch.
Circular and Curved Elements
One of the key aspects of the project is the respect with which it will be constructed, minimizing interference with the local fauna and flora. For this reason, the aesthetic essence of the brand is filled with circular and curved elements, referencing the immersive experience it offers.
A Slight Vintage Touch
Due to the island's historical nature and its preservation over the years, it was decided to reflect this value in the visual identity. This can be seen in various details, such as the typography, curved frames, and certain shapes and compositions throughout the designed elements. These details set it apart from other brands in the same sector, adding a distinctive touch that is easy to identify.
The Viewing Point Restaurant
Another key aspect of the project is what awaits users once they complete their journey to the mountain's summit—a spacious restaurant and large viewing point where they can reflect on everything they have experienced during the ride. It was important to design the brand in a way that allows it to be implemented with various objectives. As we can see in the examples, both the logo and the color palette fit perfectly across different materials and harmoniously combine both inside the restaurant and on various objects.
