Corporate Identity of a 100-Year-Old Bookstore
Brand History
A/G refers to August and Gustave, two friends who decided to open a small bookstore in the center of Madrid in 1921. The two newcomers from London, both lovers of literature, didn't think twice and opened their humble store in the heart of the Literary Quarter.
This project focuses on how to modernize an old brand while still preserving the same essence that characterized it and made it successful.
Design of the Corporate Identity
The logo originally featured the classic and traditional initials of the friends. I wanted to maintain the same essence while adapting the shapes to a more contemporary and innovative design. Originally, the brand was only used in black and white (two colors), occasionally adding certain details in blue and red. To refresh the brand, I selected a varied color palette that attracts attention while also providing a "vintage" touch to pay homage to its long history.
The Importance of the Poster
This brand was known for its variety of creative posters whenever they launched campaigns or announced the beginning of different seasons throughout the year.
